Fitment nuance per vehicle
Mercedes-Benz A-Class
The A 250 e plug-in loses ~60 L of boot space to its battery, and the loading floor sits ~40 mm higher - subwoofer enclosures sized to the pure-petrol hatch will foul the parcel shelf on the PHEV. The touch-sensitive steering-wheel controls on pre-facelift cars are extremely easy to trigger accidentally by universal wheel covers with raised stitching; the 2023 facelift moved to conventional physical buttons.
Skoda Octavia
The Octavia hatch's liftback (large hinged rear window) opens far higher than a normal saloon boot, so overhead-mounted bike carriers and roof boxes need at least 200 mm of clearance behind the car when the tailgate is raised. The 'Simply Clever' kit includes an ice scraper in the fuel-flap, an umbrella in the driver's door and a boot-net in most trims - so aftermarket boot organisers should not duplicate what is already fitted.
