Frequently asked questions
Do Octavia hatch and Estate share floor mats?
Yes. Both bodies share the same MQB Evo floor pan, seat rails and retention pattern. Only the boot differs - the hatch is 600 L, the Estate is 640 L.
Does the vRS iV plug-in hybrid need special mats?
No. The iV loses ~150 L of boot volume to its battery, but the passenger footwells are identical to the pure-petrol Octavia. Cabin mats are shared.
Do 2024 facelift Octavias need new mats?
No. The MY24 facelift changed the nose and infotainment but did not touch the floor pan.
Do Golf mats fit the Octavia?
The two share the MQB Evo platform and roughly the same front footwell dimensions, but retention hook pitch differs by roughly 10 mm and the Octavia’s rear floor is longer (thanks to the extended wheelbase). Buy Octavia-specific.
One thing many buyers miss
The Octavia hatch is actually a liftback - the rear window is hinged with the tailgate. That means the boot opens much higher than a normal saloon. Not a mat issue, but relevant if you also buy a boot liner: check the liner is designed for the liftback shape, not a shorter three-box boot.
How to check before ordering
- Confirm your car is Mk4 (2020-onwards).
- Verify hatch vs Estate; boot liners differ, cabin mats do not.
- If iV, expect the same cabin mat set as a petrol Octavia.
