The hybrid battery sits under the rear seat, so boot depth is shorter than the earlier Yaris and cargo mats cut for the 2011-2020 car will not lie flat. There is no spare wheel - just a repair kit under the boot floor - which frees a small under-floor space for a first-aid kit but blocks any organiser that expects a full false-floor tray.
Volkswagen Polo
The Polo's boot floor is height-adjustable on most UK trims - lower it to gain around 25 mm of depth for a subwoofer or dog crate, raise it flush with the loading sill for wheel-well-free organisers.
