Do MEB-based cars share floor mats?

No. The ID.3, ID.4, ID.5 and Cupra Born are all on the MEB platform but each has a different footwell layout and retention pattern. Buy ID.3-specific mats even if a listing claims “MEB compatible”.

Does the ID.3 have a frunk?

No. The front bay is packed with cooling and inverter equipment; all cargo lives in the rear boot. The Type 2 charging cable lives in a bag under the boot floor - which means false-floor accessories that sit atop the standard boot floor block cable access. That is a boot-organiser point rather than a cabin mat one, but worth flagging.

Are pre-2024 and post-2024 ID.3 mats interchangeable?

Yes. The MY24 facelift changed the interior materials and steering wheel; the floor pan and retention hooks did not change.

Do the GTX and Pro share mats?

Yes. GTX adds sports pedals and cosmetic trim; the footwell is shared with lower trims.

One thing many buyers miss

The ID.3’s steering wheel has capacitive touch pads for cruise control and media skip - unlit on pre-2024 cars. That does not affect floor mats but if you also plan a steering-wheel cover, choose one with smooth stitching so raised patterns do not trigger the pads unexpectedly.

How to check before ordering

• Confirm your car is ID.3, not ID.4 - the two share visual language but different platforms.
• Two round retention posts on the driver’s side is MEB ID.3 pattern.
• One-piece rear liner suits the flat EV floor better than a three-piece set.
