Frequently asked questions

Do Kona petrol, hybrid and Electric all share the same phone mount zones?

Yes. The SX2 Kona (2023-onwards) uses one dashboard design across every powertrain. Mount fit is identical.

Are the vent slats horizontal or vertical?

Horizontal on the centre vents. Vent clips must be horizontal-slat-compatible.

Does the Kona Electric have factory wireless charging?

Yes on N Line S and Ultimate. Advance does not. A magnetic mount plus a Qi-coil in the mount is the simplest workaround on Advance.

Are the twin-screen infotainment/dial displays a mount fit issue?

The 12.3-inch twin screen dominates the top of the dashboard on higher trims. Adhesive mounts placed on top of the dash sit high enough to block driver sight lines; use vent clips or lower-centre-stack placement instead.

One thing many buyers miss

The Kona SX2 was designed EV-first with a very open lower-centre-stack area (no gear lever - Hyundai moved the gear selector to the steering column). That leaves a genuinely useful flat zone below the touchscreen for adhesive mounts, unusual in a modern SUV.

How to check before ordering

  • Confirm your car is SX2 (2023-onwards); the older OS Kona had a different dashboard.
  • Vent clips must be horizontal-slat-compatible.
  • If N Line S or Ultimate, factory Qi charging on centre console.
